put a logo on a very large beach umbrella

I've got a friend that own a beach umbrella store. If a customer want to have a logo printed, he normally outsource it to a shop that can make 48inX48in screen print. He got an order for a 16ft beach umbrella with a logo on it. The 48inX48in screen print won't be big enough. So he asked me for a solution. The main problem at that size, the product is made in california and he will have to put the logo on a finished product.

Any suggestions are welcomed.

it's a thick fabric. definitely not a vinyl. I can ask more specifications if it can help.

We used to do a lot of these things. We handpainted the needed graphics or copy. 1-shot enamel and/or poster paint worked well.
