Quality issue vj 1614

Hi I have a little issue with vj 1614. There is banding come and after 3-5 inches printing it disappear. Any solution, please help. Please see attached pictures.

I had this problem before and it turned out to be a dirty encoder. Remove the left panel (looking at the printer in the front) you will see a round disc clean with a lens cloth and some alcohol very carfully spin around while having the cloth on both side in between your fingers. Hope this helps.

That's classic cross-contamination. The most likely issue is the damper is failing but try this first. You need to clean everything (Bottom of head, Cap top, Wiper) to rule out dirtiness as the issue. After that, I would test the maintenance station to make sure it is not clogged. It may allow ink to flow through but if there is a ton of ink left in the cap top after a cleaning, it is at least partially clogged and that is causing the issue. Usually you can clean out the clog using a syringe and cleaning solution. If ink is flowing through properly, I would change the dampers and cap top, which should be changed at least once per year anyway. If you get the dampers, cap tops and maintenance station running perfectly and you still have the same issue, the inside of your head is damaged and you need a new one.

Hi,
Thank for the great hints. It work. My wiper does not move forward 100%. It is only moving 50 %. So 50% head get wipe out and remaining is still have ink on it. I had manually did few cleaning by moving the wiper with my finger and I got my quality back. Now I had repair a maintenance station before but this should be to complicated. I am attaching a couple of pictures. Please let me know which part in the maintenance station the wiper move forward and go back to its position. Thank for your great help.
