Would love to pick your brain about a problem I'm having with a Pnc-1000 on Windows XP if you don't mind. My name is David. I'm at 859-200-2410 or I could call you if you Pm me your #. Thanks

I tried but I'm new to the board and it won't let me send a Pm until I have made 10 posts! Anyway, I picked up An old Pnc-1000 and set it up on XP using the Centronics parallel cable. I'm using FlexiSign 7.0. I downloaded the driver from Rolanddg as well. Just trying to cut simple words and it will cut fine about 75% of the time. Then all of a sudden using the same file it will cut 6 of 7 letters fine and turn One of the letters 90 degrees or 180 degrees opposite of the rest of the letters in the same word or something crazy like that. I've played with all of the settings on the display but can't get anything consistent. The error I get is "error 2-wrong # of parameters". Any help is appreciated. David

Probably just want to do your set-up in Flexi for the cutter, Flexi should have the proper driver.

I'm fixed !

First off thanks a bunch to those who took the time to reply. Here's what I found. After removing the covers to look around a little I found a nick in the top off the rail that the carriage travels along. This nick was deep enough to momentarily catch the wheel which apparently let the coordinates get slightly off. Also there was a pretty good build up of "gunk" on the rail and in the wheels, A little sanding to smooth out the bump and rubbing alcohol to clean everything and I've been able to complete numerous cuts with NO errors. Really relieved. Maybe I'll get some sleep tonight. Thanks again.

You need a serial cable connection. Running a 1100 right now, had the same issue. There are USB to serial but if you can install a serial port would work the best. OR buy a modern plotter...LOL. My pnc 1100 is 25 years old and still rolling, I have gone through 7 other plotters in that time and it lives on so I keep using it. I run 20-30 yards a week through it, times 25 years..yep.

just saw the post......9 pm 2/26/15. i was gona suggest the removing the top, make sure the travel strip that follows the cutter head is not cut or bruised. cleanin it up should help but dont go nust with any lubrcation....
as for your connection.........all my rolands have run on a PRINTER PORT....its the big one on the back of older computers. as i CUT FROM ONLY COREL... i treat the plotter as a printer along with the driver from roland. FLEXI has its own driver, and iam inclined to belive your problems are with the program rather then the cutter. and if you got any version of COREL FROM 7-12, X3-X7 YOU CAN CUT direct from it and dont need flexi.
