Rebuilding print heads for VersaCamm

Just had to replace both of my print heads on my SP-540V because 2 of the posts on the manifolds had hairline cracks in them. $1000 Each !!

Apparantly they dont sell just the black plastic manifolds anymore. how convenient.

anyone ever hear of having the old heads rebuilt?

Yes some heads can be rebuilt, manifolds replaced, cleaned. How many shot counts on each head?

between 3,000,000,000 and 5,700,000,000 on each of the 4 colors.

I just can't see how these little things cost me a grand each, i think I'm still just dumbfounded by that cost and looking to save/make a buck.

I must say though... the print quality of small text has really improved with these new heads.
