Reflecting back on 2009...

Just Me
2008 was a very rough year for me personally - could not wait for the new year to come...

2009 has been a challenge in many ways - but all-in-all it has been a positive year...

I got to meet a plethera of sign friends from the board at the N'oreaster meet... that was a definite high point...

I've watched the business I'm working in - the business that I've been a part of almost since the beginning - grow in unexpected ways... we are busy as can be...

I saw 2 of my kids go back to school - and make the President's list for a 4.0 gpa and the Dean's list for a 3.8 gpa... I couldn't be prouder...

On the flip side I worry about what the new year will bring - but I am ready for whatever challenges may face me.

:toasting: So cheers to all of you - and here's hoping your New Year will be joyous and filled with good customers who don't question your price, take your advice on the layout and may your printers and cutters have to run constantly to keep up with your business...

I admit 2009 was no picnic for me either. The loss of my job earlier in the year was quite a blow, but in its place I was able to focus all my efforts on my sign business which I truly enjoy.

Best wishes to everyone in 2010!

It’s always good to look back and reminisce the past and keep it to one year at a time.

You mention one of the highlights of my year also…. the 2009, 101 Nor’easter Mixer. That was probably the highest point in some time for me and I thank every one of you that helped and participated in that event.

I truly thank my lucky stars business is going so well the past few years when all I hear is about others not faring too well. My wish to all of you is to stick it out and see ya on the other side next year with lots & lots of work for you all.

I'm most grateful for my health and my loving wife... the Goddess.
Happy New Year to all..... and don’t take any ‘Wooden Nickels’. :toasting:

2009 has been a very interesting year for me. Worked with some great Merchant Members, learned a ton from this site, enjoyed the give and take, want to meet OP ))))))in person some day, and might even start making some money in 2010.

Happy and prosperous New Year to everyone in the Signs 101 family.

Good job Stacy, getting those very smart kids in school. Great GPA's. Making Momma proud.

I'd like to take credit Bob - but they did it themselves.

My daughter is going for her degree in business administration and my son-in-law is going to be a geriatric nurse - which is hilarious because he's this big, ole' mean-looking guy who you would never think would be a good nurse - but he loves the older generation and they seem to dig on him too! Did I mention they have 4 kids at home too? Yes - I am very proud.

Well I am very thankful for my 2 beautiful kids and the best wife a man can ever ask for (Thanks Dee).

I must also say one of the highlights of "09" was meeting SREX and Mrs. SREX at Gino's along with all the others that I became friends with. I just would never have expected to meet them as they came from so far. Also Stacy and many of the others. Maybe next year we can convince Doug (ISIGN):rock-n-roll: to come out and visit.

I also appreciate all the input and help that is given and taken within our Signs 101 family here and look forward to next year.

Have a SAFE & HAPPY NEW YEAR :wine-smi:

2009 is trying to go out with a bang for me.
On the way to measure up and collect down payment on a couple of cube vans this morning, my van breaks down on the icy freeway. Called the old body shop I used to work at years ago and they hooked me up with a discount tow to their shop and let me pull it in and borrow some tools to diagnose and repair it. Turned out to be a bad ignition module. Couple of hours and back on the road!

Had my dog, Kirby, with me. He loves going for rides, but he did NOT like being left in my van while it was up on the flatbed and being towed to the shop. Poor guy was shaking something aweful when I opened the door after we got to the shop. Don't think he likes going for rides when there's nobody driving the van!

Anyways, had another customer drop off a car for a partial wrap install while I was out so now I get to bust on that the rest of the day before band practice tonight with our 2 new members.

Looking forward to 2010 for sure!
