Reflective contour cutting

We have an FC8000 cutter with the optical sensing unit for contour cutting.

The problem we are having is cutting contours on reflective vinyl. Sometimes the unit sees the registration marks and sometimes an error message stating sensing marks are not being seen. I have tried turning the sensitivity up and down with no success in getting to any degree of consistency.

Has any one else come across this issue and, if so, what steps did you take to remedy the cutting situation?

put white vinyl over the marks and redraw them

not bad. not sure if your programm allows it, but print a "yellow" box around the crop marks, a la mimaki finecut, and try that.

This. I use this trick on all sorts of different media including reflective, perf and chrome materials.

I will the white vinyl and the yellow box trick.
