'Regular Shop Vac' on HP FB550

Hi I saw on here that one of you guys had managed to get a regular 110v shop vac to work as a replacement for the 240v shop vac that comes on a HP FB550. The thread is back from 2019 so I figured I'd post a new one asking if anyone had done this successfully using a 'Step Down' converter and any other details I might need to know in order to get it to work correctly.

I just had the same issue recently. Honestly being all technical I didn’t go that route. I end up finding a 220v vaccum with same capacity and hooked up. The only thing I did was to retrofit the hose to work with the printer. Much simpler and easier.

Even easier.. Just install a relay and use anything you'd like.. Even a system vac using remote blast gates...
