Did anyone know if HP will come out with a new generation of the L25500? I want to buy one soon, but can wait if there is a newer model coming out. I which they would come out with a white ink.

I can't remember where I've read this tho...

Yes of course, its the L26500 and will be coming out pretty soon. They will not be using white inks though.

I've heard a new Latex is coming to the show in Oct.

So if it coming out in october, then it will be aviable in Canada like in December or January?

Time to work something with the dealer. I need a printer next month. So maybe buy the L25500 and make a trade for the L26500...

If HP does show this fall, don't count on availability immediately. We have all seen initial shipment dates be limited for one and almost always pushed out 60-90 days.

My thoughts: Wider/Faster to compete with the Seiko's of the world.

I am also in the market for the printer. I am holding of for the new model due out in October, probably launching at the SGIA show in New Orleans.

The new model offers a better media take up system, and improvements in ink such as gloss level. I am not sure about pricing or other improvements.

For us the decision is easy- environmentally-friendly inks, no outgassing, great color, print onto fabrics, at a good price.

I've talked with an HP latex specialist yesterday and he told me the improvement will be new ink and double side printing like the LX850. They will present the printer in October but will not be aviable until January.

I will need a printer before that. So I think I'll get the L25500 and try to make a trade when the L26500 will come up. Or something like that.

Bud, I appreciate your enthusiasm for the environmentally friendly "latex" inks, but what about the increased power consumption required to operate the printer?

An extra 60 to 70 a month if that on electricity? Hell, i'd pay an extra 200 a month on electricity. Makes up for 90 bucks less ill be paying for a cartridge of ink. Not to mention all the ink i waste from cleaning my printer all the time.

Time is money. Waiting a day for prints to outgas, $$$.

Attached picture is almost 2 months of ink we've gone through, that's about 3800 of money saved if i used latex ink.
