i am downsizing a sign made in ps, but the text is pixelated pretty bad. the original sign is 27"x96"...the small one is 18"x24", so i have to change the size of the text and all. do i use bicubic smoother? or what else ? thanks brett

never heard of downsizing causing pixelation. I just go to image size and change it to what I need. Or you can use free transform to click and drag the image to the desired size.

when you say downsizing, what do you mean, if your saving it smaller and decreasing the resolution, this will definatly happen......

rez the same 72, just the actual size like i said 18x24 instead of 27x96?? it's not real bad pixelation and they are for yard signs so i went ahead and printed, but i want to know why still

when downsizing the document in "IMAGE SIZE" double the resolution at the same time or just deselect "RESAMPLE IMAGE"

By deselecting "RESAMPLE IMAGE" you should see the resolution go higher while the document size goes lower, so at the very least you maintain the same pixel count for the area it represented... if it was pixelized at the original size, it should look the same if you resample the image....and for production/archive purposes I would do a "SAVE AS"

right, but i am changing the whole ratio size..deselcting resample seems to keep the image to scale.

Ahhh...got it

Is it in layers?

If it's in layers I would at least double the rez, using guides move elements into the 18x24 field and use the crop tool when you are done.

If your elements are not in layers it's kinda hard to move things around.

I personally suggest doing as much as you can in Corel or Illy.
