Reviews on the Mutoh 1324?

We have a 5 year old Valuejet 1604 and it has been a rock.
The only real difference is the bigger size 64" versus 54".
Also the 1324 does not have subtanks for the inks so if a cartridge runs out it has to be replaced or you can empty the ink line.

Also make sure you have a matching sized plotter and laminator to use with this machine.
You will not believe the amount of people that don't have a laminator and expect the prints to last.

We have a 1324 and a 1614...The 1324 is great, runs circles as far as speed goes around the 1614. However we use the 1614 primarily as it is a true work horse. 1324 in comparison - difficult to load media, 54" rolls don't always fit with out hacking on the core a little. Harder to clean. Only has one access door on one side. Take up reel not as smooth

We have had 1204's and 1304's b/f the 1324 and the improvements are great with the 1324. However the media loading is still a pretty big weakness on this printer...
The 1324 is a great "office" printer. The footprint is small, it is fast, great color, easy to use and learn, The cut-off feature sounds hokey but it is very nice to have.

If I had to give up one of my printers b/w the 1324 and my 1614 I would keep the 1614. So if you can get a 1614 for close to same price as a 1324 I would recommend or if you have the cash upgrade to the 1624...I am guessing it would be the best of both worlds.

I too am running a 1324. But do agree with pjfm as the material loading procedure needs some reworking. Prints great and fast. I do use ColorCue and everything is spot on all the time.

trade in

Mutoh is offering up to $3245.00 on the trade of a 30" or bigger printer toward the 1324 or a 1000.00 rebate if you have no trade (can't get both)
If you want to lease you may be able to use the rebate for the down payment and put in a printer for zero cash out of pocket.

shoot me an email if you want more info

Thanks for the info...I am not very familiar with the 1614...Is that an older version of the 1624?

Also...With either the 1324 or 1624 how fast are you guys actually able to print with good quality standards that you'd say your happy with?

attached is a speed comp chart...1324 runs pretty much at the same speed on high quality prints however has more quality options to allow for faster speeds

I have just over a year on my 1324. Aside from a few small things I'm very happy with this printer. The print quality is great, the speed is pretty good and it's easy for me to clean.

The media loading can be a PITA. On a few rolls I have had to hack off some of the tube to get it to fit. On those large banner rolls I need someone else to help me get it loaded. Besides the weight the plastic ends on the media bar seem weak.

I also like that I don't have to run it every day. The old falcon jr I had wasn't like that. I've printed on all sorts of media from adhesive vinyls, photo paper, canvas, heat transfers and banner with great results. It may take some time to get your profiles set but once you do that, it's pretty simple to get good results. This is coming from someone with 0 real experience with solvent printers.

I got the 1324 about 6 months ago. Good solid printer this is my 3rd Mutoh and they keep getting better. I'm using Signlab for the rip-but unfortunately they haven't written new drivers to take advantage of the speed. I do like the auto cut-off. Print quality if awesome.
