Discussion RGB to CMYK file

Hello, how do you guys deal with clients that brings RGB file for print, Yesterday i got a client who has a design in an RGB mode, i simply convert it to CMYK but the color did not come as the client's expectation its a bit dull i would say (some color are okayish). Or is it better to leave the file as RGB and print as it is.

The RIP is generally going to be better at converting from RGB to CMYK so I would try that and see what the customer thinks. I would inform the customer that going from RGB to CMYK is always going to be hit or miss and that in the future they should just design in CMYK to begin with. There are millions of colors RGB can hit that CMYK simply can't.

I would just print the file in the RGB format they brought it in. No need to convert it let the RIP handle that.

that is great unless the RGB has blue or green in it. Blue will shift purple and green will shift darker.
