*** RIP Issue ***

Doubt that it's the Roland, so that just leaves the RIP [Flexi] !

Had another issue with a print getting about 22% in and then stopping

for no apparent reason . . . I do however have a guess.

I use to burn a lot of CD's, If you've ever done that then you probably know

what a buffer underun is. My guess is that because of larger filesize prints

the RIP has a buffer which if the print on the printer starts to get ahead of

the print sequence in the RIP, then $h!t you're done for !

Just a guess !

Any thoughts on my theory ?

Check to see if rip and print at the same time is on, also try holding the file in the RIP instead.
Is this a really large file? Or is the RIP trying to rasterize something?

Try doing 'RIP' only. Don't use 'RIP & PRINT’.

Allow it to rip the file first and then send the ripped file.

We've had that occasionally happen, but don’t have a concrete answer.

Lotsa these :beer :beer :beer solved the problem.

OK' now I feel like $h!t . . . !

I owe ChicagoGraphics a half a$$ apology . . .

with some settings changes in the Colour Choice RIP it not only

printed the file all the way through, but it looked much better than

any Flexi Print I've ever made . . . It had beautiful detail that I have

not seen from Flexi :help:

Well, I've never used the Colour Choice before,

so I'll have to play with it some more

to feel comfortable with the printing,

but I do like that I can just send off a

JPG, or TIF, or EPS or Whatever right to the RIP !

Oh' and send the bill to : PO BOX !#$%^&* Anytown, USA 12345

Yeah I use to just use Flexi Pro when I use to to print with my CJ-500, and had the same problem you were having. Then my tech told me to use colour choice and that fixed the problem.
