Roland CJ-500 not doing it's automatic cleaning cycles

I have been working on a CJ-500 which has been converted to run solvent ink but I have now noticed that it no longer does it's automatic cleaning cycles. I remember that it used to clean it's self on a regular basis but I must have changed a setting somewhere. I have looked in every menu and all over the service manual and I cannot find out how to re-activate it.

Could it be that your pump is nolonger working?

The pump works, it will do manual cleaning cycles just fine (i.e. manually pressing the clean button) .
