Roland CX500 Firmware Update & Last Version of Versawork

Hello, I downloaded version 2 of the firmware of the cutting machine Cx500, according to the instructions in the download file, Im trying upgrade through the LPT1 port, but the firmware file gets stuck in the memory of the printer drive(in windows :control panel-Devices and Printers-Cx500- Whats Printing) and nothing happens! Is there an easier way to upgrade? I also tested on another Windows but did not get any result.
What will be updated in this update file?
Another question I have is, is it possible to know the size of the sheet without seeing the screen of the cutting machine cx500, like Get Media in Versawerk?

Is there a setting in the SP300 device that measures the length of the print piece sheet in addition to its width? And in the Versawork program, how activated the option of a piece sheet because this option is off.
Is there a link to the latest version of VersaWork 5 on the web? Does VersaWork 6 support SP300V?

I HAVEN'T DONE ONE IN YEARS, but,, you know there are 3 modes a parallel port can be set to,
bidirectional
ECP
EPP

if your mode doesn't match it will not work (my best quess)

you can probably test by copying a small file (a windows shortcut, for example) from a cmd prompt to the port

something like
copy c:\<file name> ltp1
if this completes you are communicating with the port

These times, Windows 95 had DOS underneath... why in the world do you want to update such a relict anyway?
SP-300V won't run with VW6, but SP300I will.

its not a feature update

There is a sheet load in the SP-300V, but it won't measure the length of the sheet. (I never used it back then...)
