roland ex540 pro 11 not printing crisp text with black only

My Roland ex540 pro 11 is not printing crisp black text. It seems to have starting doing this just recently. All heads test print as they should. If I print text in any other color except black the text has very crisp/sharp edges. Black seems to print fuzzy text noticeable along the text edges. What could be causing this?

did you try plain K instead cmyk mix?
