Roland GR-540 makes noise when should be quiet

This thing makes noise all the time- often sits hours between cuts and never gets turned off of course. I don't hear well and I can even hear it. Normal?

If it's a rumbling/humming sound, the motor voltage might need to be adjusted. I don't know if you can do that on a Roland but I do it on Mimakis once in a while.

I'm guessing its the blade / blade holder bouncing up and down at idle? If so, yes, that's "normal" on "some" GR cutters. It has not, to this point, impacted the long-term durability of the machines we have in the field.
