Roland PC600 printhead installation

Hi All,

I fear that my trusted Roland PC600 printhead has bit the dust. I ordered a new one from RIESPRINTING in Indonesia today. They said it would be here in about 3 weeks. I am a little concerned about ordering from this far away, but it does not appear that anybody in the US has any.

My questions are has anybody ordered from them with success?

I am guessing it is just plug and play?

Does anybody have a service manual that shows how to install the printerhead?

Thanks for any help in advance. I know it is old equipment, but I have lots of ribbon refills.

How did you pay?

Most stuff advertised online from Indonesia is outright theft. A good sign is they only do money order type payments.

Ordered

Thanks for the concern. I used PayPal and received a prompt email letting me know the ship date would be March 12, about 3 weeks. The offered to return my money if that date was too far away. It appears to be on the up and up. And PayPal is pretty good at recognizing bad accounts. That said, it is a crap shoot.

Why 3 weeks to ship? Or is that 3 weeks to get to you?

Keep an eye on the PayPal cut off date. You did not use PP gift hopefully.

3 weeks

It's 3 weeks for delivery. I did find a service manual and downloaded it. It looks pretty straight forward. I just hope it pops in and works. The current head started to get lines in it. I cleaned the head several times and got it looking good, then in the middle of a print job I lost almost 1/8 in the center of the print head.

If anybody might know of what else would cause this, please let me know?

Regularly, PC600-Heads are not available anymore from roland. I wish you luck that your indonesian source is ok, but often they are not.

PC600 printhead

Thanks Hielorojo. That was a great suggestion. I quickly went to their website and was able to do an online chat with one of their representatives. Unfortunately, the PC600 printheads became unavailable to them last year.....rats.

I am crossing my fingers over RisePrint coming through, but won't stop looking. At this point I realize I need to upgrade. I love the print and cut feature and the fact that the PC600 prints on any vinyl.

I am thinking of sticking with Roland and going the Versacamm route.

Thanks,

In sheer exhasperation, I ordered from Ries-Printing via PayPal. I can assure everyone that this company is a complete fraud and is in cahoots with an equally fraudulent shipper Putra Mandiri Express. Ries tried to convince PayPal that I was a crook by producing a fake tracking statement from Putra Mandiri. I had arguments with PayPal and eventually convinced that that the fraud was Ries - after I opened a PayPal dispute, Ries tried to get me to drop the dispute claiming that the goods were not sent and apologizing - unfortunately for them, it was dated after the tracking statement! It appears that there are several Indonesian companies offering identical products at similar prices but one will find that the same names are linked to them. The commercial office at the Indonesian Embassy in London has not dealt with my query about legitimate supplies, made in March - other than to acknowledge.

It is now my intention to contact Seiko to see if they are prepared to make a short run of new heads. It would be such a pity to demote my PC 600 to just a cutter. Does anyone know if heads can be refurbished?
