hi guys. im having some problems with my roland sc500 and the quality of the prints i think are poor.

im using genuine roland eco sol max ink.
roland colour choice as my rip
corel draw x4 as my design software
media is ritrama ri-jet 100

attached are a few photos of some of the prints. the "today" print is a jpeg image printed and the rest are vector images printed. im very disapointed in the prints the colours should be solid and not like they are in the photos.

hope someone can help me out.

cheers

Ken

as i see it's looks like problem with your material... try different brand... and check the heater setting

Looks like a combination of the profile saturating the ink too much and heater settings. Try a few different profiles and see how they do. I know on that machine you can't up the heat but make sure you can actually feel the heater turning on. It may be broken.

Honestly, that machine is so old the quality you are getting is pretty close to the best you are going to get. Other SC-500 owners may have a different experience but I have never been satisfied with the quality even when the machine is working perfectly.

thanks for the reply. the heater is working anyway. it has the roland heater box. it can go upto 65. what would be a good temp to run the heaters at?

also what would be the best material to use for this machine??

also would anyone have some profiles for me to try as they are no longer available on the roland website.

im not looking for perfect prints but i do expect them to be better than i am getting at the moment.

i hope you guys can help me sort this problem.
