Roland SC 540 print alignment

Ok so the encoder strip was dirty and we cleaned it with alcohol.
now the printing is way off. prints sideways? like drifting image?


any suggestions.

Try using a cleaning swab with a little Windex. Preferably non-ammonia windex.

Be sure to clean the front and the back, starting at printhead side and cleaning with one continuous stroke to the far left of the machine.

I've been instructed to never "swipe" the encoder strip with any solvents of any sort.........I guess now I know why.........
