Roland sc-540: Spools off 7 feet of vinyl each time I press the Setup key.

So I started up my printer for another days work yesterday and loaded some vinyl to cut: When I pressed the SETUP key to measure the vinyl after i'd positioned it, it suddenly ran off 7 feet or more of vinyl then sucked it all back to the beginning.
Pre-feed option is OFF in the menu. No matter what I put in, cut or print, it measures the width and immediately spools out a long piece, as i said 7 feet or more... any size cut or print job.
I have the latest firmware. Totally new problem out of the blue. Any ideas??
Cheers and thanks!

before you press setup, what is read on the printer screen?

Roll - measure the width only

edge - measure the width, and cycle the media to the front paper side sensor

piece - measure the width, then the length by spooling out all the vinyl

i'd imagine it's on piece, pressing left or right will change it to the other options

Setup: spooling after setup key is pressed

Ragnabrok,

Yep, that was it alright. The strange part is- it never gave me all three options available before, it only read ROLL, and i'd seen the screen a million times! When it changed to ROLL EDGE PIECE I didn't even notice. The other guy who operates the printer must have changed it without noticing either. ha! Well, there ya go. Knew it had to be something simple. :)
Cheers and thanks!
