after a year of trying to get a printer to try and print stuff for our local churches i get a printer not the one i was told and it's damaged and many other issues and problems also this is the kicker I was told that it would not even work without either a board upgrade to a 545 or Versaworks Dongle ?? I am searching no luck so far if anyone can point me in the right direction that would be awesome. Have a blessed day.

Roland SC 540 Versaworks dongle??

Hello all i see 49 people have looked but no replies do we all have the same issue ? am i in the wrong thread ? wrong forum ? I searched for days and read and read and no true answer. I have GSG saying the board or dongle, I got the company i got it from saying Roland told him with versaworks you plug in an IP i did see some mention of the IP deal but it was not successful and that person by a member told them dongle. If no one knows anything about this subject maybe any helpful hints to a newbie on an old roland sc 540 sol jet 2, all this time and money out still waiting on power cord and inks to see if it even runs. signed completely exhausted before i ever get to help anyone out !!

You will definitely need a dongle for that printer. I think they got rid of them for the PROIII series. :(

I have no idea where you might find one though. Nor do I know how to troubleshoot your printer. Pictures and a more detailed description of what is happening might be beneficial for someone on the board who might have the capability to help.

You may be able to find another dongle somewhere, but they usually get sold with the printers since they are required as far as I know.

Cheers.

You don't need to use VersaWorks for that printer, a lot of other RIP-Software too have drivers for the SC. These printers were delivered with Colorip, a Wasatch Softrip OEM, perhaps check there for a cheap software solution.
