Roland sc500 in flexi 8 - icc profiles (links and pics!)

Hello!!

So I have had a sc500 for a few months now and I am still trying to figure it out! (Then I can set up a thread to help others :D)

Using Flexi 8
rip and print
ecosol max inks
material Arlon sticker vinyl

I have tried profiles from here

http://download.rolanddg.jp/en/rolandmedia/max/rcc/sc/index.html

I am getting a very lovely speckle in lighter colours.
Thinking this was the ink, I replaced and no change.
I can adjust input of certain colours and it does help a little but is only hiding the issue I know is there.

Tried multiple heat settings.

Have brought it down to a setting (Somewhere) When I turn colour correction off I get speckles on light magenta/cyan
when I demo print from the printer - no speckles!

Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated as I feel like im running around in circles when it could be simple.
Black contamination is because I need a new capping station and only happens rarely.

update!

Hello!

So I have made some progress for anyone looking at this.

After googling stuff endlessly and raging and almost giving up I randomly figured something out

1. use pure hue settings where possible! I use magenta alot and it looks amazing!

2. My machine was putting down too much ink!

In rip and print I tweaked magenta at 50% to 20% on pure hue and its amazing
black I was using at 3% for some designs until I tried pure hue, I was getting a bit of fuzz! so that lead me to

3. In properties i discovered GCR (No idea what that is!)
I changed total ink from 280% to 160%
and black to pure hue then down to 30%

Much better!!

Still sussing out fuzz in some colours, but getting there!!

Can you post a test print?

Some colours will always be speckled because of the limitations of CMYK.

Hello :)

Test print is perfect. which had me thinking it was profiles. I would print light cyan and get speckles yet when I do a test from the machine its immaculate.

Will post up a pic later
