As a rule, if one side of the head prints fine and the other one doesn't, first change the cap tops. Use quality (Roland) caps, not the knock-offs. Yeah, they're WAY more expensive than the knock-offs but you'll get better service and far less aggravation out of them. Consider changing springs, as well. Do a cleaning cycle after changing the tops.
