Roland SP 540 Versacamm question...

I looked at a Roland sp540 versacamm today. Its been turned off for 3 weeks and I was wondering if the printheads can go bad from that? I had a hp designjet 9000s and it had to get daily maintenace because of the hard solvent or the printheads would go bad. Is this the same for this Roland printer? How much are new heads? Thanks, Jeff.

If you email me I will send you a procedure on how to do a nozzle soak we use this all the time for customers.

If you turn it completely off with the switch in the back, then yes, the heads can dry out. If you leave the main power switch on and let the printer go to sleep, it will periodically cycle itself on to keep the ink flowing through the heads.
