Hey there.. I have a couple of Roland printers - sp300 and vp300's.
We have one that was making a slight grinding type noise when it was printing crop marks - and only then.. yesterday it began to make noise during the entire print run..
I found a great deal of the Black metal dust around the back of the inside of the machine - up where the encoder strip moves back and forth.. and we cleaned it a few months ago when we replaced the scan motor.. we have never had that level of dust before and to me is indicative of the grinding we are hearing.. does anyone have any thoughts as to what might be out of place or need replacing.. the print itself is fine.. no problems at all.. it is just a concern that it could be a bigger mechanical problem
