when i just cut it seems the fan runs forever then it goes to sleep (lcd goes out and gets quiet) are they a adjustments for this?

or is this normal?

huh? Does it cut or do anything at all or just go to sleep when you tell it to cut?
I would assume you are hearing the vacuum (fans), but just cutting there is no need for it to heat up; that's for printing.
