Roland STX-8 looses tracking?

Hello,

I've got a Roland STX-8. The plotter cuts flawlessly most of the time, but occasionally (expecially with text) it looses tracking and starts overlapping letters and making a huge mess of things.

Has anyone had this happen before? Its occuring on my pc and a friends using the Dr. Stika software, Adobe, and Flexi.

the stx-8 is made for hobby ists I believe so long cuts aren't expected with the stikas

I can have something no bigger than 8" long and 3" wide and have it happen.. its insane. OR... coffee cup sized round cut stickers... happens there too.
