roland versacamm sp-300 print head keeps hitting my vinyl

The main reasons head strikes happen are:

The heat is too high causing the media to buckle
The pinch rollers aren't feeding properly causing the media to buckle
The material is too thick for the machine
There's ink build up on the bottom of the head
The vacuum is failing or clogged with dust

Does the SP-300 have 2 different head heights. Lift it up if it does.
Also are you using the media clamps on each side of the vinyl?

Pull the lower panels from the machine and clean the dust and debris off the fans that create the suction for the sheet..You physically have to dig the grime off the fan blades.

Does the SP-300 have 2 different head heights. Lift it up if it does.
Also are you using the media clamps on each side of the vinyl?

The 540 has different head height settlings, not the 300
