Roland VersaWorks update Problems

Can anyone help me with this problem? I just download the update for Roland versaWorks and now I am receiving the message " VersaWorks Application has stopped working windows is checking for a solution to the problem." my OS is windows 7 If you have encountered this message, I would be grateful for your response on how the problem was resolved.

I'm running Windows 7 (64bit) and my VW just updated on Monday, and everything is fine.

Maybe it's a problem on your end?

Make sure you have enough FREE memory for VW, and I would suggest you try and run a manual update.

I have read here in the past that the FIX was to do a manual update,
Navigate to VersaWorks folder in the start menu, and click on "Online Update". Then click "Check for Updates". The second manual update usually makes the problem go away.

If you get really stuck, you can try the Initialize Application icon.
Last ditch effort before re-installing.
You may lose your settings though.

If you have an older Roland do not get the updates. At a certain point Roland no longer releases valid updates. All you end up doing is wasting drive space and creating problems. Been there done that. A top level tech alerted us when we started having issues after an update. No more updates = no more problems for us.

I really appreciate your comments. We have an older model and everytime we updated there was problems. Finally stopped updating. Never did connect the idea that my machine is what they call a "legacy" machine which isn't supported like the newer ones. Still trying to get the new VSi. Might be a few months I'm though.

I just updated to Windows 7 Pro. I have a VersaWorks 3.03 disc from our original purchase and it isn't installing. I get a message saying it can't run the initialization file. I'm getting a newer disc but it sounds like an admistrative thing. - any thoughts?
