Looking at buying a VG-540. I am reading that it comes with the take up reel. Dealer is trying to charge me $2,095 for take up reel. Are they suppose to have one included?

We never had any trouble with our VS-540 either... until we bought an Epson S80600.
Blows the Roland out of the park with speed (at least 4x faster at comparable resolution) and gamut is huge.
We also tested the new VG and EJ range at Roland head office, and were sorely disappointed. Neither could catch the Epson in any measurable metric.
We've had no issues with Roland, but these days it feels like they're falling behind.

Made salesman aware and they do in fact come with the take up reel. I can't fault him for not knowing since he is use to the versacamms.

I don't hate paint, I just overlay it.

that's not bad. I was sold on a laminator with a rear take up reel. When I tried to set it up we realized something didn't add up. Called the manifacturer and turns out that take up reel is not even compatible with my laminator. It's made for another more expensive model. Thanks Dealer!!!!
Anyway. I managed it to McGyver it together! Even have a topic here about it. Look up marrying royal sovereign laminator.
