Question Roland VG640 scan motor replacement?

Hi Team, my machine Roland VG 640 popped an errorcode 0040 0040. Then after cleaning rail and checking dampers, and firing up, it came up with service call 0360. I can't really find any info online about it nor here after searching for hours. If the scan motor has died, how easy are they to replace? All suggestions welcome. I'm in New Zealand.

Hi. I have a vg-540 and got this replaced a few months after I bought it. Still under warranty. I really would like to help but found almost nothing online. What I would do is go here https://www.rolanddga.com/support
and try to get some help from them. If you can avoid buying the motor from them if needed to, you can find it on Ebay ships from China. The deal is replacing it after you make sure you need to...good luck.

There is a glass encoder disc inside the motor that needs cleaning. You need to remove the side panel to be able to remove the motor. Once you have it out, you need to unsolder the PCB to be able to clean the disk. Resolder and replace and you are good to go again.

So the motor won't need replacing? Really appreciate the response guys.
