Question Roland VS-540 now running clean cycle every few minutes of printing....why?

a few weeks ago, everything pretty much normal.
NOW....the printer will pause in the middle of a 5- minute print job and run a 'clean'.
On larger jobs, obviously this can cause marks in solid colour areas.
What happened? Why is it doing this, and how do I turn it off, or 'back' to normal.
any suggestions?
Printer is on VW 4.10, software is Versaworks 5.1.1 but that hasn't changed recently either.

Roland used to do extra "clean" when you used non Roland inks. They could see something in the chips that would make it burn extra ink, and punish you for not using Roland ink.

I had the same problem.
Try updating your firmware.
That worked for me.and was very easy to do.
