Roland VS 540i problems

Printer not printing correct color. I did a head soak, still test prints come out poorly. Tried to change the cap top and snapped a nipple on the ink pump. Changed the ink pump but forgot to put the top back on the black and while I have cleaned it pretty well the printer now will not do a test print. Every time I try to set up a print it over feeds itself backwards when trying to do a setup and rolls off of the back. What can I do?

Power the orinter off. DO NOT plug in again until a complete cleaning
ink is CONDUCTIVE.
clean every drop of ink off everything. Especially between ribbon cables. Edges of boards.
connectors. Be metiulous
change the ribbon cables & possibly you can repair the machine

DO NOT be in a hurry to plug the printer back in or you will end up scrapping it

lots of 91 or 99% isopropyl. If it doeen’t come clean, add 5% acetone. Scrub with a tooth brush,
flush & rinse with isopropyl (no acetone)

keep the captop wet with cleaner consistent with your ink, or AT LEAST isopropyl until you hace the machinecworking again

buy a service manual online
you need to check fuses & possibly power transistors

It mainly seems to be in the area around the ink bottle. I cleaned most everything else pretty well and tore apart as mush as I could

I'm pretty sure, you spilled ink over the feed encoder disk/sensor. (It's in that area in this printer)
This needs to be cleaned/replaced.

I did wipe that down both front and back along with thr cords but will also detach if I can. I am just nervous about pulling it off or trying to replace it

The bottom right was the first one post-ink pump change, then the 2nd it split and that's when I knew something was wrong
