Rolland vp540 - I Have Some Questions! Quality Related

Hey Guys,

Got a VP540 dont use it much lol but when i do my greens are so grainy with yellow dots, not horrible but noticeable - when i bring the head speed down to 200 (i know thats very slow) then the prints come out so much nicer and crisp? am i missing something or is that what I have to do to get a nice print with a 10 year old machine lol...?

I have attached 2 examples of a 200 head speed and a 760 head speed using the generic vinyl profile

the print test looked pretty good to bad, so im guess it should be looking better at higher speeds?
 
Hey Micheal,

So long as the printer is 100% functional (all nozzles firing true and straight), then the following will apply. If there's a hardware issue with the printer and head nozzles, you'll have to address that first before continuing.

While performing the following suggestions, please select to print in uni-directional mode only (to simplify the troubleshooting process).

In your first post, you indicating using a "generic" profile. Although you can select that profile, we don't expect the greatest quality using that profile. Now, we understand it's likely you've had success using that in the past, but a software update may have also updated the profile, contributing to this issue. So, for comparison purposes, it's strongly recommended that you install and select the profile that's made for your printer, the ink configuration in the printer and the material being used.

Also, based on the photos, it's possible the issue is directly related to the heat being applied to the material (too much or too little, all based on the environment). You can experiment with raising the team to the maximum and lowering the temperature to the lowest value to compare the changes.
