ROM Exercises...anyone?

James Burke

Being a grandpa is more fun than working
I turned 46 three weeks ago and am in need of some better exercise alternatives (besides walking).

I'm looking for some good information (links?) on ROM (range of motion) exercises that can be done with little or no extra equipment...other than free weights, perhaps.

There's that nifty fourteen-grand machine out there, but I figure that would get me nearly forty years at the health club...and they have a ROM machine there, to boot.

But before I plunk down any money for a membership, I'd like to begin a regimen on my own.

Does anybody have any particularly favorite links?

So far, I've been able to kick the caffeine (Coke and coffee) habit for the last month...and it feels absolutely fantastic...but I'll still admit....coffee smells way too good in the morning.

Thanks,

JB

Got a heated pool nearby, swimming exercises nearly every muscle in your body and not hard on your 46 year old body. :Big Laugh

why not do the old fashioned basics? Push ups, sit ups, arm circles, jumping jacks running in place, and mountain climbers. Those will stretch you out build lean muscle mass and give you cardio all at the same time.

46?!? he's at his prime. and pls don't tell him otherwise. :thumb: the key is to take it slow so that your body can have time to adapt and strengthen itself in whichever exercise he chooses.

btw, yes, swimming is still one of the best exercises out there. :peace!:
