Rounded corners

Hey guys! I get alot of people asking for alluminum signs. Since i have a complete sheetmetal shop I shear the alluminum blanks from a full sheet but lately people have been wanting them with rounded corners. I have been sanding them down with a stationary 12" disc sander. They come out good but a little time consuming. I was wondering if they make any "raidus cutters" that will just shear out the corners? That way its faster and more consistant. If they do any brands i should look into? Thanks

That one doesn't look bad. There smaller than i imagined. Do you have any experience with this tool? Or does anyone? I read that it should do .0625 alluminum but do you think it could do .080 alluminum?

I have been using a CornerMate ( http://accucutter.com/ ). I use it for Alumacore, 5mm diabond .063 aluminum and once in a while on .080. I'm very careful and deliberate with the .080 and it works. Accu Cutter is a great product.

every shop should have one. i looked at both of those links and they are different from the ones that i have seen..but it is really simple technology. some of them have changeable dies and in some cases the dies can cost almost as much as the machine.

That thing is sweet. We have a heavy model 50 lasco, we kept wearing the model 20 out. Not as heavy as that thing, how much is it.

We have the Model 20 and have been pretty happy with it. When this one wears out we will be stepping up to the big leagues!

we have 3 they are all foot operated and 1 of the three is electric
and the foot pedal has a 4ft cord so if you are rounding corners on a larger peice you can hold it and still reach the pedal

Thanks guys! The $600 looks sweet. A little more heavy duty which should last longer i would imagine. Now i just have to save the $ for it!

If I remember right here in the UK all street/highway aluminum signs have to have rounded corners.
Guess they don't like having people maimed by a sign!
