Royal Sovereign RSC-6500H Laminator Parts information

Anybody have this kind of experience?

Royal Sovereign out of business, I wonder why!? Can't get service or "parts" anymore . Pictures attached.

1. Bought the laminator (RSC-6500H), received an extra heating element glass tube...couldn't understand why. Heat wouldn't work and notice noise from the rolls. Opened the laminator up and found the glass tube was already broken inside of the top roller. That's why they shipped the extra tube. Found out accidentally RS knew it was broken and didn't say anything. Had tech come out, took the top roller off, stood it on end, then the tech, me and another employee had to gently roll and shake the roller to get the majority of the broken glass out of the inside of the roller.

2. Motherboard burnt up. Had to get a new mother board.

3. Roller would not raise up anymore. Would go up a certain distance, then drop back down. Opened up the side...the worm gear was already worn down. Never in 30 years have I seen a laminator gear get worn down, especially in less than 2 years. Warranty up, $1300+- for part and tech to fix. Talked to RS tech, stated I am applying too much pressure . "I don't think so!" I know the pressures to use, plus this laminator has a beeper that stops you from going over too much pressure and makes you lower the pressure if needed, plus I'm following the "user manual specs".

4. Kept smelling like something was burning. Opened up the laminator and found that the heating element wire connector was all burnt. Needed a electrician (customer) repair the wire and add a new fuse. Tried to get a hold of RS to get a new part for 2 months, finally got an automated phone message that they are closed...so no more tech. :thumb:

5. AGAIN!!!...Roller would not raise up anymore again! Would go up a certain distance, then drop back down. Opened up the side...the new gear was worn down again...after 8 months this time.

*One bad design flaw is that the rubber strands on the roll shafts are too thin/narrow. The vinyl/laminate rolls just slide on the shafts, they do not grab to provide tension, so I have to hold the rolls/shaft to give some tension.

Can anybody provide any insights to this Royal Sovereign laminator. We are now in talks to a couple large gear manufacturing companies we found on the east coast to find out if they provided the specific parts to RS. It seems that the gears are from a catalogue of standard parts made for all industries. We are also in talks to a couple custom CNC shops if they can make new gears for us if need be.

Does anybody have information on parts? I am attaching pictures. Thanks, Alan
