yup, as much as I love digital printing I also deplore it. I feel so out of control over what happens to finished work.
So I get a call yesterday from a very good customer and they need a rush retractable for their client today by days end to be shipped. I agreed but knew this is not good. The banner is basically one complete spot colour of a 300 blue. I set it up and print on a super smooth block out which works well in retractables. leave it overnight until 15 minutes ago and I unroll to cut up and put it into the retractable unit. Halfway through unrolling this white line appears on one side and runs the rest of the way through the banner.
Theres no way that could have happened during the print process as I was there and watched and there was no white line running through. Now I cant figure out how it got there. It's like someone came in last night, unrolled the banner and purposely did it, which is impossible.
The back of the banner has no blue ink on it so it did not come off from being rolled up. It is a mystery as I have a mental fit to get one printed fast and load it in for a delivery by 4.
Just another day in hell!!!
