Is anyone sandblasting wood signs with Walnut Shell or Corn Cob or any other abrasive besides sand ?
Not 100% but I think organic media can cause problems. It can be embedded in the wood and rot. In general, garnet and black beauty are very common medias in place of sand in the industrial world, Id assume theyd be fine on wood as well. Glass is also used quite a bit but not so much in any large scale, its usually the car and boat guys.

Find your local monument shop they should have some recommendations. Ours uses stone blast since they work primarily on granite and marble. Works a treat on cedar, redwood, etc...
