SC540 Spray pattern wierd

The test print on bank a is coming out all weird. I was somewhere that it is a deflective spray. I tried cleaning it, manually and normal cleaning with swab. Changed wipers, flooded sponges with cleaning solution, didnt sit for very long. What do you guys think. Let is sit longer? Its making black really hard to see and fuzzy, unacceptable to customers. LMK. Thanks

DIY Printer Fixing Guide
When you put cleaning solution into the cap top use a twist tie to pinch off the cap top tube. This will help the solution stay in the cap better. Make sure the solution is bubbling over the cap top before you put the print head on it to be the most effective. Let it sit for at least half an hour and then take the twist tie off and run a powerful cleaning. It looks like the head should be recoverable as you aren't missing any nozzles but they are not firing straight down.

You can try to continue the "soaking" of the heads. You def got deflection, not only in the black head, but also in the Cyan and Light Cyan head as well. If the soaking doesn't clear out the deflection, then replacing heads is the solution.

Ive read about parking the head. The machine does that automatically when turned off, correct?

Yes it does, but once the pumps run then....Poof, gone is the cleaning solution that the head is supposed to be soaking in....thus the earlier post about pinching off the tubes.

Soaked the heads for about an hour, and test print is exactly the same. Im thinking the guy I bought the printer from might have crashed the heads into media? Might be looking at two new heads.
Feedback?

Damaged heads is a possibility, move the carriage to the leftside (like your doing your manual cleaning) and inspect the surface of the printheads.....a scratch going across the head (left to right) is usually a kiss of death for the head. If no scratches/damage, I would continue the soaking (if you have the time). I soaked 6 heads in a Roland ProII for 1 month, after the machine had been unused/no power for a year. I was able to get 4 of the 6 heads to come back.

As for replacement heads, you can find them on the secondary market (non Roland Dealers), but know that those heads were rejected by Roland Japan because they didn't meet QC standards. Will they work? Yes and no. I have had customers supply me with heads they have bought and I have installed them without issues, and I have installed with issues. When I had issues, I couldn't get any response from the supplier.

Your lc/lm heads look good. You might consider asking your Roland tech to switch one of them with the black head. We had that done on ours - now we can print crystal clear 8pt text in black instead of crystal clear 8pt text in light cyan.

Yeah thats deflection.. I had really amazing results by printing cleaning solution.. Try it out.. at this point you have nothing to loose because the head is shot...
