Scitex XL 1500 - Fumes Issue

We have a XL 1500 printer, I wish to uncase (hanging plastic strips or similar) the printer so that the fumes will be removed outside. The current airflow does not do a good enough job.

If anyone has done this to a 1500 or similar printer I would love to see some pictures..
