Scoring adhesive vinyl backing for easy peeling.

Is there a tool or method to hand score the backing of printed vinyl stickers for easy removal? I know there is special crack & peel media that can do this. And I also know that I can kiss cut around the edges of the stickers to leave a lip for easy peel. We have a customer who is set on having a pre-scored backing on his stickers and having a tool to do this for smaller jobs would be helpful.
