Just received this from a client....

Does anyone know what software was used to produce this? I'm thinking Cricut or something similar.

Thank you,

Not sure about what brand of basement/nephew software that is, but please for the love of god get rid of that apostrophe if you're fixing this art for them!

Sorry, couldn't help myself. I'm always amazed just how much of the population insists on having their cabin signs spelled incorrectly.

Right? Ain't no need to replace the g with anything, fishin is fishin, ain't nobody got no time for high falutin grammar concepts when at the lake.

I sure don't know what the software is though.

Ok, no more dissing the client's work. I agree, it needs major help, so rest assured there'll be changes.

But beyond that, I think some of y'all need to visit the freezer section of your local grocery store and do a spell check.

The correct name of the seafood company is actually Gorton.

I have no idea as to what software this might be but the layout is via an amateur^2 having an exceptionally bad day. On this image there's 5, or perhaps 6, individual objects just floating around. Each one having no relationship with any other. Whomever is responsible for this probably shouldn't quit their day job just yet.

The presumptive family name is Gorton. But the seafood company is called Gorton's Seafood. The corporation is Gorton's of Gloucester.

People do get very mixed up about plurals and possessives. Gorton's is correct in the case of the seafood company because they own it. But if we were making a sign to hang at their fishing cabin it would be The Gortons because it would be plural, meaning the multiple Gortons live here. I suppose an argument could be made that there's an implied object, namely cabin, i.e. The Gorton's Cabin. Of course a contraction could also be short for Gorton is, i.e. "Johnson's going down and out and Gorton's going to run a slant but I'm going to keep it and try to get the touchdown."

Arial Sucks.
The dumb apostrophe on "Gordon's" sucks. Monotype Corsiva does have proper quotation and apostrophe marks.

The font has them but your software has to be set to use typographic (curly) quotes rather than straight--if it has that capability. But if your software doesn't you can just type commas and then move them up.
