Definitely hand rendered. Whether or not they were trying to copy something is beyond anyone knowing.

I'd say hand done - e's and i's have slight differences between them

Gotta be hand lettered... Both of the "E's" are vastly different, The "I's" are two different heights and curves at the bottom aren't the same as each other.
