Seal 62 Plus Laminator rollers not moving to 0mm gap setting

We are having an issue with our Seal 62 plus Laminator not lowering to 0mm setting for laminating vinyl print media. We can get it to 3mm, but anything lower and the roller retreats to the max setting.
We tried moving the receiver laser sensor, left, right, up, down, and adjusting the mode, also adjusting the transmitter sensitivity. I can not get any better then the gap setting at 3mm. any ideas on what to try next?

thanks,
Jake

Yes, if definitely a 62 Image Plus the PE has to be adjusted properly and it will work.
I’ll share with you my notes from my last one being an older model:

Seal said to adjust the position of the photoelectric sensors so the "PE" LED light stays lit on the main board. Made that adjustment and now nip roller comes down and the 3 speeds now work also.

I don't think the laser sensor has anything to do with the rollers not going down far enough. They are there to keep you from sticking your hands into the nip. There is something wrong with the step motor if it won't go all the way down. The problem you'll face is that machine was discontinued back in 2005 so finding parts will be limited to ebay and/or luck. It might be time for a new laminator. Kala makes a sweet machine which will also last 10-20 years like the Seal did.

All I can tell you is it has happened twice on this model and I spoke with the great Shawn at Seall and what I wrote was the fix for the rollers not coming down. Yes, it could be something else as well.
