I had one of them for about 5 years.
Awesome unit, rarely screwed up a print on it.
They do hot laminating as well as cold which is another service you can offer.

As you mention the only thing wrong with them is the speed.
We bought another Seal, only faster.

There are some issues with this laminator. After talking with their shop foreman, I decided to pass on this unit. Give em a call just to be sure.
Tracking issues if I remember correctly.

Yup, this is true. Thus the crazy low price. Feel free to PM and we can tell you all we know about it. I am not looking to pawn this off without full disclosure to anyone. It needs work, but it'll go for a steal to the highest bidder.

As you'll see on Ebay, Minimum price is $750, paid $6900.

our laminator tracks off. they ALL do. its definatley NOT a deal breaker.

anyone that lams as much as we do will agree. they are ALL off. you learn how to know your machine/s and work with their shortcomings.

mind you, we lam 20' prints all day long. not signboards. we understand the issues and how to fix/deal with them.

It has something to do with keeping the pressure even. The rollers are in great shape, but I guess the operators were having a hard time getting consistent and even pressure across an entire print. There is also an issue with it stopping mid print, like it thinks it's jammed when it's not. They also mentioned it didn't get as hot as they'd like.

Pretty sure these issues are the main mechanical/technical problems.

In addition to the speed issue, the reason we chose not to get it fixed though is because this particular model lacks variable thickness height adjustment from what I understand. Instead it uses presets I think? If you do lots of different material thicknesses, you may find it frustrating to get adequate pressure on odd thicknesses.

We use it for backup mounting only, gave up trying to get laminations from it. We do pretty high volume and needed a much more advanced machine.

I'll put any serious buyers in touch with my production manager for further info.

mounting nothing but 180c/8518 all day. cold roll lam.

let me know how that works and i may swoop it up as a backup.

Like I said to a few others....this machine is priced to reflect condition. If you wanna use for lamination, it'll likely need to be serviced to fix the roller pressure, otherwise you may be wasting prints. But considering the going USED rate for this model is $6500-10,000, even if you have to put 2 even 3k into it, depending on final purchase price you still are getting a deal.
