Searching for a thick, economical laminate or clear with CLEAR or TRANSLUCENT backing

I have an Avery cast laminate with clear backing but it doesn't work for this very specific application. Do you know of any other clears/laminated with clear backing?

want it to be clear for registration purposes. the print goes over something else, and they want to be able to choose the best orientation / under painting. (client is a fine artist / painter working in mixed media.)

My optically clear overlaminate from Lamex comes on a clear liner.
printable, however, uncertain. you have solvent or latex? i can try.

Arlon series 3590 is a 12mil lam with clear backing but it is not cheap. I use it for dirt bike graphics, very durable.
