Wow, from good bluesy jazz, to bossa nova to marches and beyond. That's some nice stuff. I was expeciting Christmas music, but easy listening is always good, well, except for Vaughn.........

Actually Vaughn had a big hit with his version. I like it because it has all the talk and messing around one typically finds in OBS removed ... and it shows to go ya that you don't have to be blue grass to do a good job with a piece of music like Orange Blossom Special.

Not sure what the bossa nova is. I'm guessing you're referring to "At Seventeen" which was a grammy winning pop song with haunting lyrics but a long way away from Brazil.

Life Saver Girls is the Theme from Mondo Cane in march time before the "More" lyrics were added later for Andy Williams et al.

Love your pics Signosaurus. Mark Knopfler is by far may favorite guitar player of all time. A lot of people can sound like SRV and Hendrix, but nooobody sounds like Knopfler. Also love Chet and Bonamassa.
Tried to find Chet & Jerry Reed playing don't thin twice it's alright, but it seems to have disappeared from you tube.
So here's a close second. I love Jerry Reed. Never took himself too seriously and always had fun, but man could he play.

Thanks Fred. While that's a Bossa Nova, here is the true sense of a Bossa Nova. Most people know what they like and that's fine. I'm the same way, but when it comes to musicality, there is a difference. A real difference. Regardless of what the jacket says the music is, the real flavor, tempo, feel and performance will dictate what a song really is.


Whether we're talking Waltzes, Viennese Waltzes, Tangos, Argentine Tangos, to Salsa, Mambo or Cha Cha Cha, there still is a difference in the real music vs. what some people call it. Again, the real test is what you like to listen to.
