Selection tool in Illustator

OK this is driving me nuts. I dunno what happened but when I use to select the selection tool I was able to also transform with it as well. However, now I have to use the transform tool to do so. I dunno what I did but can anyone direct me in how to make the select tool work how it use too.............please.

i bet you lost your bounding box, I personally hate the bounding box but depending on what version you have it's either in preferences or VIEW>SHOW BOUNDING BOX

Sounds like you may have toggled the Bounding Box off. You can toggle it on/off with the [CTRL+SHIFT+B] key combination or visit View>Show Bounding Box.
