Separate 100k+ stickers into 100s

I have an order if 100K + stickers, 2" x 2" , irregular shape that I need to separate into sets of 100 stickers.

Any ideas on how to best do this. Stickers are all dumped into a big box after cutting and need to baggie up 100 stickers. Right now I'm thinking of using a scale, weight it out. Any other ideas on how to do this?

To some degree yeah. Depends if it has to be 100 or if some variability doesn't matter.
Easier if the machine counts to 100 and you flick in another box. You won't get 100 every time with a scale and irregular shapes.

What cutter are you using? My first thought is to perf cut the decals, then through cut them into sheets of say 25, then you can quickly grab 4 sheets and pop them into a box.

Weighing them would also work if you don't need to be super accurate, one batch may have 98 and the next 101.

You could also create some sort of tool that has an opening of a certain size that fits 100 decals

Do the decals also need to be sorted so they are all facing the same direction and are the same orientation? If so this is going to take more time than the printing & cutting.

Is the client able to take them on sheets? That is how we usually do it, sheets of say 25 pcs, cut them on our summa flatbed, would likely save 40+ hours of labour on this job.

Over 100 is ok, it's exactly the same sticker x100.

I'm going to test with a scale to get an idea of how accurate/fast it is to grab a handful of stickers, throw on scale then into the packaging baggie

Cut on colex and graphtec.

For poping out I'm thinking just shaking the sheets into a big pile. Stickers do not have to face same way. Has to be die cut, no sheets to customer

OK, in that case I think cutting the decals out but keeping them in sheets would be best, on our summa if I through cut the decals with the kiss cutting knife, then cut them into sheets with the HD knife, the decals will stay in their matrix well enough to be handled, but can be shaken or easily popped out if needed, this will make handling them easily and keeping track of quantities easy as well.

This is how I usually do it but trying to speed it up. I'm also trying to speed it up as there is a good chance there will be repeat orders of this

I assume you have done this already, but have you considered outsourcing to somewhere like stouse? By the time you account for labour, you may be better off outsourcing, i assume at these quantities and sizes you are only making a few cents each?

I am the "stouse" in this case, it is 100% worth it.

Stouse is way too slow. would be 2 week lead time for this. I started on this 2 days ago, Friday and it is almost finished cutting today. Also they would not separate into 100s

OK, I assumed you checked.

If your plotter has a takeup roll and barcode functionality, you could print these in groups of 100 with a barcode between, let it cut a full roll overnight, then pop them out of the matrix in the morning.

Yea that's the usual way I do it, I'll compare the weighing out method to see whats faster

Uh oh, better make sure you get paid, looks like your client just reached out to me as well...

Dear Label Retailer,

I am reaching out from the United States, where I am currently assisting my father with an interior design project due to his illness. My name is Williams Wozniak, and I am from Canada. I am interested in purchasing labels for my uncle, who is interested in Canadian products.

I would like to inquire about the cost of 60,000 pieces of 65mm x 25mm rectangle labels with high gloss material, split into two different designs of 30,000 labels each. Could you please provide an estimate that includes the GSG/HST, excluding shipping, for a special order to be collected from your store?

I will send a mockup of the labels for your reference. Please forward the estimate to my company email, williams@wozniakinteriordesign.com. Once I receive the estimate, I will obtain approval from my uncle before proceeding with the payment in advance for the special order.

lol
